I’m just a little obsessed with all things paper – I had to stop myself from ordering business cards before I even ran out. Notebooks? I have plenty. Wrapping paper for every occasion? I’m set!
I came across Minted earlier this week and was immediately hooked. Customizable stationary? Count me in! I got right to designing some cool stuff.
Minted has an incredible selection of beautiful stationary, from Valentine’s Day cards to wedding invitations, birth announcements to the prettiest thank you cards, with free reign when it comes to font, colour, and type of paper. Pretty cool, right? They even have some gorgeous wall art prints.
I had a hoot and a half designing personalized stationary for myself. All the designs are very easy to customize. I love it! There are so many different styles, and certainly one to fit every personality.
Clicking on any of the items will take you to the product page.
Minted crowdsources designs for stationary, art and part decor from a global community of independent designers and artists.
I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty gung-ho to support independent designers. I browse Etsy on a regular basis for gifts because it just feels so darn good to be buying from an independent designer, and not a superstore.
On Minted, anybody can submit a design. Users then vote on which ones they want to be part of the minted collection! Perks of being an talented designer include cash prizes, 6-8% of ongoing revenues, and more.
I love Minted because it’s a great way for designers to get their foot in the door. There’s no secret agenda: designs aren’t being chosen because they’re cheap, or because the artist is well known already – they are being chosen because the designs themselves kick butt.
Are you wondering about the wall art prints I mentioned? Don’t worry, I’m getting to it. On top of incredible stationary designs and customizations, they also have a huge selection of prints. It’s so nice to just sit back and browse gorgeous artwork. My favourite part is choosing a few favourites and seeing where the designer is from. Kristie Kern is one of my favourite designers (so far!) – she’s from Akron, Ohio and she just seems like the loveliest person in the world.
